About The Position

As a Professional Engineer (PE) in our Surface Water Engineering Group, you will leverage your expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, stormwater management, and green infrastructure to manage complex projects from concept through implementation.

Requirements

  • 5-15 years of experience in surface water engineering, stormwater management, or green infrastructure design.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Civil Engineering.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects, budgets, timelines, and client relationships.
  • Advanced skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, EPA SWMM, ArcGIS, and other relevant engineering tools.
  • You are familiar with UDFCD/Mile High Flood District processes and USDCM, AMAFCA, NMDOT, SSCAFCA, USACE and other local NM drainage.
  • Expertise in the movement and evolution of arroyos, creeks, streams, and rivers.
  • Experience leading teams, mentoring junior engineers, and providing technical guidance to project staff.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex engineering concepts and effectively manage client expectations.
  • A strategic thinker who excels at solving engineering challenges with innovative, sustainable solutions.
  • A proactive learner who continuously seeks growth opportunities within the engineering field.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the execution of stormwater and green infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Apply your deep technical expertise to solve complex engineering challenges, providing guidance to project teams and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Lead detailed studies supporting sustainable water management and provide solutions for stormwater infrastructure.
  • Use industry-leading software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, EPA SWMM) to design and model infrastructure solutions.
  • Support project budgeting, prepare cost estimates, and manage resources effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships, and ensuring client satisfaction.
