Position Overview DePuy Synthes is currently recruiting for a Specialist, Professional Education, Trauma and Extremities to be located in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The Professional Education Specialist is responsible for the planning and execution of Professional Education programs for external healthcare customers. The Specialist leads resources for the efficient and effective delivery of Professional Education programs. The education continuum may include didactic and practical programming including use of technology programs (simulation, telementoring, etc.) to improve the learning experience. This role collaborates with Sales, Marketing, and Professional Education leadership to develop detailed plans (budgets, facility needs, faculty selection) and manage execution. The Specialist ensures all education initiatives align to business priorities, leverage technology to enhance learning, and comply with legal, regulatory, and Health Care Compliance (HCC) policies, including AdvaMed, Pharma, and ACCME requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum 2 years in Orthopedic Medical Devices (Sales, Marketing, or equivalent clinical, surgeon-facing experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical expertise in Trauma, Extremities, Thoracic, or Craniomaxillofacial surgery.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with healthcare professionals and key stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel 10–15%; role is based in West Chester, PA.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, nursing, engineering, or related discipline.
  • 2+ years building and/or delivering clinical training or professional education programs.
  • Professional, confident communication and presentation skills with HCP audiences
  • Experience executing digital and face-to-face programs, including social media campaigns.
  • Working knowledge of orthopedic fracture management principles.
  • Outstanding organization and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple events/projects concurrently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; strong facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Compliance, and Medical Education.
  • Exceptional presentation development and delivery skills (virtual and in-person).
  • Project management discipline with timelines, budgets, and post‑event metrics.
  • Digital fluency and advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Ability to effectively facilitate meetings, ensuring clear objectives, strong engagement, and productive outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Customer Education Visit (CEV) program from planning through day-of hosting, ensuring a high-quality customer experience.
  • Plan and execute Trauma national and regional courses, coordinating objectives, agendas, faculty, labs, and logistics.
  • Lead digital education programs including CONNECT, Virtual Reality, and Rods & Cones; measure engagement and learning outcomes.
  • In partnership with Marketing, plan and support labs and education activities at major society meetings.
  • Develop and drive an innovative digital/social media strategy to promote professional education content and events.
  • Design and deliver education that enables safe and effective use of DePuy Synthes products, incorporating adult learning principles.
  • Contribute to regional education plans mapped to strategic priorities, target customer segments, and focus procedures.
  • Own end-to-end execution of programs: faculty contracting and management, learner experience, facilities, logistics, and vendor oversight.
  • Translate business requirements and market opportunities into clear Professional Education strategies, plans, and curricula.
  • Continuously analyze the external marketplace (competitor programs, trends, technologies) and apply insights to programming.
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with faculty, facilities, and third-party vendors; negotiate and manage Statements of Work (SOWs) as needed.
  • Lead Professional Education projects with documented objectives, milestones, resource plans, budgets, and success metrics.
  • Apply emerging technologies (simulation, telementoring, digital platforms) to extend reach and reinforce learning before, during, and after events.
  • Ensure all materials are copy approved and compliant across their lifecycle; maintain documentation/audit readiness.
