Department Nursing Education Job Summary The Professional Development Specialist advances the professional growth of nurses and interdisciplinary team members through the design, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based educational programs. Grounded in the ANPD standards of practice, this role supports orientation, competency management, continuing education, role transition, and professional role development. The Professional Development Specialist collaborates across systems to foster lifelong learning, promote regulatory compliance, and drive improved patient care outcomes through quality and practice excellence initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in related field Required
  • 4-6 years Clinical Experience Required
  • Experience in professional development, education, or leadership
  • RRT-Registered Respiratory Therapist - NBRC - National Board for Respiratory Care Required or PTL-Physical Therapist License - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required or SLP-Speech Language Pathologist - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required or OT-Occupational Therapist - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required
  • Strong clinical knowledge relevant to therapy practice
  • Ability to design, implement, and evaluate educational programs
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and quality improvement practices
  • Excellent skills in working with learning management systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to interpret and communicate aggregate education and competency data
