Howmet Aerospace is currently looking a Heat Treater to join our Dover Casting group in Dover, New Jersey. The work hours for this Afternoon Shift are Monday to Friday 2PM- 10PM . Training will occur on Day Shift Monday - Friday 6:00a - 2:00p. POSITION OVERVIEW Heat Treaters are responsible for inspection and loading/unloading of parts into furnaces. They perform routine data collection and maintenance on the furnaces. ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES Expected to assist in the implementation of EHS Values and policy statements and accompanying principals. Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory EHS regulations. Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Report all job related illness and injuries (Per Employee Handbook). Report all safety, health and environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner. Attend all EHS training. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Loads and unloads heat treating furnaces with metal castings. Inspects each piece for cleanliness prior to heat treating. Heat treats metal castings by maintaining heat treating furnace conditions, such as temperature and atmosphere to predetermined written specifications. Utilizes heat treating fixtures as specified by instruction sheets. Maintains proper heat treating cycle and quench procedures as specified. Maintains heat treat logs and records all information relative to each heat treat batch. Routinely checks operating furnaces to insure correct operation. Prepares metallurgical and chemical samples as required. Performs routine maintenance as required, and assist maintenance personnel when working with the heat treating department as required.
