About The Position

Howmet Aerospace is currently looking a Grinder to join our Howmet Casting plant located in Dover, New Jersey. The work hours for this Midnight Shift position are Sunday Night - Thursday Night 11:00p - 7:00a. Training would by Monday - Friday 7:00a - 3:00p for several months. This position removes gating from the castings to customer specs using a grinding belt and grinding machine

Requirements

  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Candidates residing within 50 miles radius of Dover NJ will only be considered.
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

  • Must effectively work and communicate with other team members to provide products and services of the highest quality and reliability in total conformance with customer expectations.
  • Maintains records as required.
  • Maintains work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Follows all applicable safety rules and works in a safe manner at all times.
  • Responsible for verifying calibration stickers.
  • Performs other duties as might be assigned by supervision.
  • Responsible for performing set-ups as needed.
  • Assures dimensional accuracy of parts being machined or ground by taking quality measurements and making any necessary adjustments to jigs, fixtures, or machines. Must be able to use gauges to verify dimensions.
  • 95% of time requires pinch grip, continuous wrist and elbow moving, under general high force.
  • Performs belting, stoning, buffing operations to remove visual imperfections
  • Performs other duties as might be assigned by supervisor.
  • Responsible for verifying routers before working parts.
  • Expected to assist in the implementation of EHS Values and policy statements and accompanying principals.
  • Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory EHS regulations.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report all job related illness and injuries (Per Employee Handbook).
  • Report all safety, health and environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Attend all EHS training.
