About The Position

Position Summary To weld using Stud Welding (SW) and Resistance Welding (RW) machines for the purpose of manufacturing STERIS® product. Shift : 4:30pm to 2:00am Monday-Thursday and Friday 11:00am to 3:00pm

Requirements

  • High school education or GED required.
  • Minimum two years experience ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to use a stud welder.
  • Must be able to read and interpret welding blueprints, including all standard welding symbols.
  • Must be able to use precision measuring instruments and gages.
  • Must be capable of lifting 40 pounds without assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and operate SW and RW equipment using prescribed methods and procedures to weld parts within acceptable tolerances and standards.
  • Ability to build weldments through manual layout process, when required.
  • Read and interpret STERIS® welding blueprints, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) including standard welding symbols, travelers, and other working documents.
  • Use required measuring instruments and gages to check and ensure parts meet dimensional requirements.
  • Communicate clearly, both verbally and written, with Engineers, Quality personnel, supervisors, and fellow team employees.
  • Complete all projects, assignments, and duties as directed and instructed by the area supervisor.
  • Take responsibility for the quality of all parts by inspecting and immediately reporting any problems, discrepancies/or irregularities to the supervisor.
  • Follow 5S methodology to keep machines and work area clean, neat and orderly on a daily basis.
  • Assist in training other employees in the welding department.
  • Remain safety conscious at all times, wearing all prescribed personal protective equipment and by observing all safety rules stated in the Employee Handbook.
  • Complete any and all projects, assignments and duties as directed and instructed.
  • Conform to all policies, procedures and rules of conduct as communicated through the Employee Handbook, Bulletin Boards, Newsletters and any other vehicle by which information is distributed by STERIS Management.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal or no supervision if needed.
