The Role Biolog is seeking a Production Technician to support the pouring, inspection, and packaging of pre-reduced anaerobically sterilized (PRAS) culture media including tubes and plates. This role ensures products meet customer specifications while supporting daily production goals. The Production Technician is also responsible for maintaining cleanliness and performing routine maintenance of equipment within the production area. On-the-job training is provided for specific manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic chemistry and math skills needed to measure and prepare media
  • Ability to operate production equipment used for pouring and packaging culture media
  • Understanding of sterile technique and contamination prevention practices
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step manufacturing procedures accurately
  • Ability to organize work efficiently and meet production timelines
  • Sound judgment and ability to troubleshoot minor issues, escalating complex problems to the Production Manager
  • Strong communication skills and professionalism when working with supervisors, coworkers, and management

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and manufacturing standards such as ISO and GMP is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Pour, inspect, and package prepared culture media in a sterile, accurate, and timely manner
  • Print and apply product labels for tubes and packaged materials
  • Operate production equipment including autoclaves, heat sealers, sensor/controllers, tube pouring machines, gas tank regulators, cap robots, automated pouring lines, boilers, packaging automation systems, and printers
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance of production equipment
  • Use sterile technique to prevent contamination and ensure product integrity
  • Clean and disinfect production chambers before and after use
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant production workspace
  • Support additional duties such as shipping activities as assigned
