About The Position

SeaLandAire Technologies in Jackson, Michigan is looking for Production Technicians to join our team. SeaLandAire provides engineering services for data collection in difficult environments. A SeaLandAire Production Technician is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the assembly, testing, and inspection of products within a manufacturing environment. This role requires proficiency in basic hand tools, print reading, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The position ensures smooth production flow by supporting the operational team, maintaining equipment, and ensuring that products meet the required specifications. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and technical drawings
  • Good attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
  • Basic Office software proficiency
  • Manual dexterity to use hand tools and handle small parts is required of this position, as well as the ability to lift and carry items over 25 lbs.
  • Since a majority of SeaLandAire's business is funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, applicants must be a "U.S. Person" (U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident).

Responsibilities

  • Use basic hand tools (such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers) to assemble or disassemble parts and components as per established procedures.
  • Follow production schedules and assist in maintaining consistent workflow throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Ensure parts and materials are available for production and assist in maintaining stock levels.
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to understand assembly or production requirements.
  • Accurately measure parts and components using basic measuring instruments (calipers, rulers, etc.).
  • Perform basic inspections on assembled products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Report any defects, discrepancies, or issues found during production to the supervisor.
  • Assist in the maintenance and minor repairs of tools, machinery, and equipment used in the production process.
  • Keep work area clean and organized to maintain a safe and efficient workspace.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Participate in safety training and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
