About The Position

Employees in this position will disassemble, clean, inspect, assemble and test various transmission components, subassemblies and complete assemblies.

Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for all hours of their shift.
The employee is required to use their hands to use/feel tools, equipment, objects, and controls.
Reaching and stretching of the arms is required.
The employee will frequently perform tasks requiring repetitive motions and repetitive forceful grasping.
The employee is often required to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, hear and speak.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects weighing up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision requirements include close vision and color vision.
Must be able to read and understand English.

Responsibilities

Disassembles transmissions and components by using hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
Cleans transmissions and components by using manual and automatic washing equipment.
Inspects transmissions and components for usability by using visual and mechanical techniques.
Assembles transmission components and complete transmissions by using hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
Tests completed transmissions and components using electric or manual testing equipment.
Identify parts and components by model type.
Follows written instructions for each workstation in the process.
Operates various measuring and testing equipment to verify parts are within tolerance or properly assembled.
Records various required data on paper travelers or via electronic methods.
Perform regular preventative maintenance and cleaning of assigned equipment.
Clean and maintain an orderly work area.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
Responsible for adhering to the policies, procedures and instructions of the QS 9000 and IS0 14001 systems.
Contribute to and ensure safe working conditions.
