About The Position

We are seeking skilled and proactive Team Leads to support daily operations at our modular home manufacturing plant. This role is critical to maintaining safe, efficient, and high-performing workstations. The Team Lead oversees a crew of 4–8 team members, ensures compliance with lean manufacturing principles, and supports continuous improvement across the production line. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership abilities, a deep understanding of construction or manufacturing workflows, and experience solving problems independently in a fast-paced production environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of general construction or relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Bilingual – English/Spanish
  • Strong reasoning and problem-solving abilities (deductive and inductive).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to recognize potential issues early.
  • Strong organizational and information-ordering skills.
  • Ability to maintain focus, work independently, and manage competing priorities.
  • Creativity and originality in improving processes and solving operational challenges.
  • Ability to visualize sequences, workflows, and spatial layouts.
  • Clear speech and strong comprehension skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Forklift Operator Certification
  • All prospective Impact Housing employees must be able to demonstrate eligibility to work in the US.

Nice To Haves

  • First Aid/CPR Certification preferred
  • Lean Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 4–8 tradespeople within an assigned station.
  • Maintain Manufacturing Execution System (MES) accuracy and ensure production adheres to standard cycle times.
  • Provide workstation coverage as needed during absences.
  • Conduct on-the-job training to build skills and promote operational excellence.
  • Support and reinforce lean manufacturing practices.
  • Participate in Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage nonconformances within the station and prevent the build or shipment of defective products.
  • Perform 5S activities and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Conduct error-proofing, standard work verification, and operational risk assessments.
  • Attend and respond to Andon calls.
  • Identify waste and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee tool control, part kitting, and inventory management.
  • Track potential project delays and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor relevant local policies, media, and industry dynamics that may impact operations.
