About The Position

The Production Team Lead will play a key role in overseeing and guiding the daily operations of the production team to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety in manufacturing processes. This hands-on position requires a proactive approach to leading by example, providing direction, and fostering a collaborative and productive environment. The Team Lead will be responsible for managing production schedules, monitoring team performance, and troubleshooting operational challenges while ensuring adherence to company standards and safety protocols. This position requires a team member who is not only adept at managing resources and workflows but is also deeply involved in the day-to-day activities of the team, providing support and mentorship as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Five (5) + years of directly related production experience; at least two (2) of these years as a regular Forj Medical employee preferred.
  • Fine motor skills are essential for handling miniature parts.
  • Ability to maintain a high level or concentration while doing repetitive work.
  • Ability to visually inspect product using a microscope.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, to read and write in English.
  • Methodical/Systematic skills necessary for machine startup and shutdown.
  • Ability to notice differences in product.
  • Ability to comprehend basic machine components and controllers.
  • Ability to use basic inspection equipment such as calipers, drop gauges, gauge pins, micrometers, comparator, smartscope, and voltmeter.
  • Ability to communicate effectively using manufacturing terms.
  • Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and or operations of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Leads team members on the production floor, to be the first point of contact with questions or issues. Be the first to guide problem solving and escalation, when needed.
  • Promote and facilitate continuous improvement activity.
  • Monitors production for adherence to quality standards.
  • Reports daily production results for metrics to the Tier board.
  • Performs direct work, as necessary.
  • Maintains workflow and ensures availability of proper materials, tools, and fixtures.
  • Creates maintenance work orders for tool and equipment issues.
  • Ensures proper lot changes and line clearances.
  • Oversees maintenance of work assignments to achieve the production schedule.
  • Sets-up, tests, and documents new tools and materials.
  • Monitors safety practices and housekeeping.
  • Interacts with other departments to resolve problems that interfere with productivity.
  • Oversight and support for training of new and less experienced operators. Manages cross-training, training matrix to monitor versatility.
  • Possesses a good practical understanding of manufacturing operations and related processes.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
