About The Position

The Production Team Lead oversees daily operations within the aluminum manufacturing area, ensuring production goals are met safely, efficiently, and with high-quality outcomes. This role is responsible for coordinating team activities, monitoring workflow, supporting continuous improvement efforts, and maintaining a safe and accident-free work environment. The Production Lead serves as the primary contact for operations within the department and helps train, motivate, and guide team members to achieve optimal performance.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in aluminum, metals, or industrial production.
  • Proven leadership or lead-operator experience.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and workflow management.
  • Ability to train, motivate, and guide employees in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Working knowledge of safety standards and quality practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement techniques.
  • Preferred forklift or material handling certification.
  • Preferred experience with ERP, CSI/Infor manufacturing management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support production team members to ensure consistent performance, engagement, and accountability.
  • Model company values by fostering a culture of respect, open communication, and teamwork.
  • Provide hands-on training for new employees and ongoing skill development for existing team members.
  • Assign daily tasks, provide direction, and adjust staffing as needed to meet production requirements.
  • Oversee the manufacturing process for components, ensuring workflow efficiency and alignment with production schedules.
  • Monitor equipment, machinery, and tools, and report issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure accurate packing, labeling, and movement of all materials and assemblies.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, quality, engineering, and logistics to keep operations on track and on time.
  • Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications through daily checks and adherence to procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
  • Support implementation of lean practices and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure documentation, logs, and reports are completed accurately and timely.
  • Promote and enforce a zero-accident safety culture by following all safety policies and ensuring team compliance.
  • Conduct daily safety checks, support incident investigations, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA standards, and industry regulations
