The position oversees a Team in production of various products by performing the following duties. Although the location of the position is in Newton, NJ, from time to time it may be required to undertake duties at other Thorlabs locations.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years' experience in production/assembly environment.
  • High School education or equivalent
  • Ability to read and communicate in English, have basic math skills and be proficient using a computer.
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Advanced knowledge of processes and operations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Leads a team of employees and prioritizes work.
  • Reads and follows plans, material lists and guidelines and distributes jobs appropriately.
  • Fulfills all regular production duties and completes required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Ensures specific customizing demand.
  • Organizes, leads and trains employees to complete products within established guidelines and time frames.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures and safety requirements, including input into crewmember discipline and documentation.
  • Ensures management needs are met and maintained.
  • Participates in interviews as needed.
  • Advises planners of potential missed dates.
  • Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments.
  • The Company retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.
