About The Position

Senior Production Support Analyst will ensure optimum production through-put is achieved through the multiple job schedulers: Application Manager, CA7, Advanced Function Printing (AFP), Solimar Document Delivery Application, and WebCRD and the online reporting systems (ORS) and Vista Plus. Incumbent directs the activities of the Production Support Analyst(s) in areas such as providing technical support, completing backup and backout procedures required prior to implementation, and procedural revisions necessary due to software or system changes and is responsible for the successful configuration, programming, and efficient operation of specifically online assigned vendor-supplied software packages.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Data Processing, or Business Information Systems. In lieu of degree, five (5) years’ relevant experience will be considered.
• Minimum five (5) years’ combined experience in each of the following: Job Control Language (JCL), utilities, macro functions and capabilities, Computer Associates CA7, Computer Associates CA11, Online Reporting System, Application Manager, Vista Plus, Time Sharing Option. Windows, Advanced Function Printing, WebCRD, Solimar, Windows-based spreadsheet and word processing software.
• Minimum one (1) year experience in participating as a lead in some area of a large-scale project.
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience with the IBM, HP and/or AIX platforms or related platform.
• IBM AIX and/or UNIX Environment experience highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Completes all management statistics and all trouble report profiles along with informing division management of severe problems.
• Ensures that up-to-date JCL is maintained for each production job and ensures proper and accurate job accounting for all lines of business.
• Establishes a daily production schedule (batch, online network, and Electromagnetic Compatibility) for all lines of business.
• Implements ideas for process improvement.
• Maintains accountability for performance of Enterprise Report Management Systems including online and archival retention criteria and administers security of users and reports access to ORS and Vista Plus online reporting systems. assigned vendor-supplied software packages.
• Maintains a high level of knowledge on job scheduling systems and reporting systems.
• Maintains and monitors software/servers.
• Maintains system priorities for both IBM and UNIX and provides daily routine maintenance for CA7 databases for the IBM and Application Manager for the Unix environments.
• Monitors systems for issues and works to resolve.
• Performs other duties as required
• Provides technical assistance to the Infrastructure Operations staff as well as the various IS and operational areas regarding AFP, ORS, CA7, Solimar, WebCRD, and other Print/Mail operations and is responsible for system performance and tuning at the job and system levels for both IBM and UNIX environment, also coordinates the installation of certain software, as required, to support any line of business.
• Train Production Support Analysts
• Troubleshoots errors for problem resolution.
• Uses TSO to research jobs and modify JCL when needed.
