About The Position

HireNow Staffing is partnering with an established manufacturing organization in Waterloo, Iowa to hire a highly capable Production Supervisor for its 2nd shift operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who enjoys being on the floor, working directly alongside production teams, and driving real-time execution across safety, quality, and output. Approximately 50% of this position involves direct labor , making it best suited for supervisors who lead by example and thrive in fast-paced environments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or lead-level experience overseeing hourly teams
  • Ability to lead through presence, accountability, and hands-on execution
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills under production pressure
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and team standards
  • Solid communication and interpersonal leadership ability
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and production reporting tools
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to work an onsite 2nd shift schedule consistently

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily production schedules by assigning labor, monitoring workflow, and ensuring output targets are met
  • Lead and coach manufacturing employees through consistent expectations, feedback, and on-the-job training
  • Supervise shift performance across productivity, attendance, safety, and quality standards
  • Spend significant time on the production floor performing hands-on work alongside team members (approximately 50%)
  • Monitor staffing levels, equipment performance, and process flow to maintain operational efficiency
  • Identify and escalate safety, environmental, or health risks, ensuring compliance with plant standards
  • Serve as the quality owner for assigned production areas, reinforcing inspection requirements and corrective action
  • Ensure materials, supplies, and resources are available to prevent delays or downtime
  • Complete shift reporting, documenting key production metrics and performance trends
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and high-accountability work environment
  • Support hiring, onboarding, cross-training, and development of new production team members
