About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for driving the day-to-day activities of the production teams to ensure the successful achievement of production goals for Fiber Pad. This role will coach, mentor and direct the work of the production teams. The Production Supervisor will play an integral part in driving continuous improvement initiatives that help increase efficient and effective operations. The position works collaboratively with multiple departments within the company to help meet customer expectations and deadlines, ensuring successful long-term relationships with our customers and attainment of company goals.

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of leadership experience in a plant manufacturing maintenance role with progressive responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team, developing others through mentoring and coaching, while establishing accountability with performance.
  • Ability to learn thermoforming processes to be a resource to production team and provide solutions to issues in production.
  • Experience with MS Office, Excel, and ERP system. Visual preferred but not required.
  • Advanced communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, understand measurements and compare product details to customer specifications.
  • Motivated self-starter with ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and tasks at once with interruptions.
  • Strong editing, proofreading and math skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Mechanical aptitude to understand and properly utilize tools with accuracy, with ability to learn various machinery utilized at Fiber Pad for production processes.
  • Technical aptitude to understand machinery within a manufacturing production environment.
  • Ability to interact with customers and Leadership in a professional manner.
  • High level of dependability regarding attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to collaborate and work well within a team environment, and willingness to motivate and support others, supporting the Core Values of Fiber Pad.
  • Ability to use hands, including fingers to hold, touch, see, feel, grip, squeeze, push and pull as required for testing but also performing computer work.
  • Ability to perform pushing, pulling and forward exertion on a regular basis.
  • Ability to have overhead extension with arms on a semi-regular basis.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, crouch and squat frequently.
  • Ability to see near and far, utilize peripheral vision and depth perception for tasks being performed, as well as visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and drawings, small parts, viewing a computer screen for extended periods of time, and extensive reading.
  • Ability to bend and twist neck to monitor machine production accuracy.
  • Ability to hear at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make the discriminations in sound.
  • Ability to stand and walk on concrete floor for 12-hour shifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 20lbs on a consistent basis.
  • Ability to regularly lift and or move up to 50lbs on a frequent basis as needed for tooling products.
  • Ability to understand and communicate verbally, in person and over paging system.
  • Ability to meet requirements of and utilize all PPE when required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal CNC/Machining technical training or equivalent experience, preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Drives and supports the day-to-day production process and efforts of the production team, working collaboratively with the Director of Operations to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with and support Quality initiatives to meet quality standards throughout production process.
  • Schedule and post shop production through ERP system daily.
  • Facilitate production efforts to meet and improve on time delivery goals.
  • Leads production Team Leads, providing mentorship and direction on tasks while providing coaching and training to improve skills and develop talent.
  • Drives the Lean mentality on the production floor, helping identify opportunities for process improvement and overall increased efficiencies of production teams.
  • Champions efforts to drive low scrap rate and overall operational cost reduction as we work to improve overall productivity through process improvement.
  • Drives the creation and maintenance of SOP’s for production teams to facilitate training and cross training opportunities.
  • Assist Team Leads and Maintenance with troubleshooting of issues with machinery and equipment.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources to support recruiting and retention efforts and the development of team members to create team strength to drive succession planning.
  • Lead and train maintenance team, providing mentorship and direction on tasks while providing coaching and training to improve skills and develop talent.
  • Working collaboratively with all levels of leadership to drive facilities safety, security and emergency preparedness for the property and employees.
  • Lead and support safety excellence by holding team members accountable to safety policies, procedures and identifying safety needs and improvements.
  • Additional duties as needed or assigned.
