About The Position

About the team: We are looking for a skilled production supervisor to join our location in Garrett, IN.   What you can look forward to as a Production Supervisor:

Requirements

  • Minimum associate degree in industrial management or related degree.  Relevant experience and background in lieu of degree will be considered.
  • Minimum 4 years solid experience supervising daily activities and work performance of personnel.  Preferably in an automotive component assembly and packaging environment.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills – experienced in root cause/corrective action analysis.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize
  • Team oriented with a positive attitude
  • Time management skills and high ability to multitask
  • Ability to manage people and processes, while developing and coaching employees with integrity and professionalism.
  • Skills to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft applications and MRP experience, BPCS or SAP preferred.
  • Familiarity with process sheets, bills of material, picklists.
  • Knowledge of quality systems such as IATF 16949 and ISO140001.

Responsibilities

  • Assessing staffing and material levels
  • Review daily production schedule and set priorities to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and develop Operations team to achieve performance objectives and company goals including assessing and correcting any employee training deficiencies or needs
  • Assigning tasks to manufacturing associates
  • Manage production output based on established rates and goals.
  • Monitor flow of materials through the operations
  • Maintain accurate records within the inventory management system
  • Make recommendations for process improvements
  • Provide on-the-job training to employees in all areas of their job duties including work instructions, health, safety, ergonomics, quality systems, lean principles, and inspection procedures.
  • Implement and maintain compliance to company policies or procedures and enforcement of such through corrective disciplinary action as appropriate.
  • Participate and/or lead continuous improvement/lean projects in the warehouse.
  • Lead and support corrective actions for quality concerns from the Production area.
  • Utilize and track key performance indicators and other operational metrics to drive performance
  • Continuously seek opportunities and lead projects to improve efficiency and remove waste in the organization
  • Conduct quality audits in support of the Quality Management System
  • Maintain a safe working environment
