About The Position

Under the direction of the Value Stream Manager, the Production Supervisor leads and coordinates a manufacturing team to achieve operational excellence in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC). This role is responsible for overseeing the daily assembly of high-quality cabinetry components, ensuring strict adherence to Standard Work instructions, and managing the efficient use of woodworking tools and machinery. By optimizing material flow, identifying process bottlenecks, and maintaining rigorous shop floor organization, the Supervisor ensures consistent on-time order fulfillment while mentoring the team through technical coaching and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Five to ten years of manufacturing related experience.
  • Minimum of four years of management/supervisory experience.
  • Excellent coaching and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to minimize down time and ensure team is working efficiently.
  • Knowledgeable in raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Experience with strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to monitor/assess performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Wood finishing experience preferred but not required.
  • Lean manufacturing training and experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a zero-incident workplace by daily enforcing all safety standards, PPE requirements, and OSHA policies.
  • Lead and direct assigned personnel to meet daily production efficiency goals and customer expectations while managing time, attendance, and professional conduct.
  • Ensure all cabinetry components meet strict structural and finish specifications and that all personnel are trained to these standardized work instructions.
  • Maintain and accurately record all production data, including work orders, scrap reports, and safety inspections, in a timely manner.
  • Perform daily inspections to ensure all equipment and/or tools are in proper working order and safe for use.
  • Track and communicate departmental key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational goals to the team and management.
  • Consistently enforce 5S standards and lead continuous improvement (CI) initiatives to reduce waste and optimize production methods.
  • Execute employee performance counseling and disciplinary policy enforcement consistently and professionally.
  • Collaborate with team leaders and material handlers to schedule daily tasks and maintain inventory levels for lumber, hardware, and supplies.
  • Recommend and implement measures to motivate employees and improve equipment performance or material efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Maintenance, Engineering, Receiving, and Quality to optimize production workflow, uphold rigorous quality standards, and drive departmental continuous improvement.
