About The Position

The 3rd Shift Production Supervisor leads packaging operations across multiple production lines during the overnight shift at the Johnson City Manufacturing Complex. This role is accountable for shift safety, cGMP compliance, schedule adherence, OEE performance, and the development of a high-performing team of Line Leads and hourly packaging technicians. The supervisor acts as the senior site leader during the overnight hours, exercising sound independent judgment and escalating appropriately to ensure uninterrupted, compliant production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Business, or related field — OR — Associate's degree with 3+ years of pharmaceutical/OTC manufacturing supervisory experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or team lead experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (pharmaceutical, OTC, medical device, or food/beverage cGMP preferred).
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of cGMP regulations (21 CFR Parts 210/211) and GDocP principles.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop hourly production teams in a fast-paced, multi-line environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient in documenting batch record and logbook entries with accuracy.
  • Comfortable using ERP/MES systems, electronic batch records, and Microsoft Office tools for operational reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with high-speed packaging equipment including fillers, cappers, labelers, cartoners, and case-packers.
  • Familiarity with OEE frameworks, changeover reduction (SMED), and shift-level KPI management.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent CI training.
  • Experience with CMMS platforms and maintenance coordination in a cGMP environment.
  • Prior exposure to FDA inspections, internal audits, or regulatory agency interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Own shift-level results across as many as 12 packaging lines spanning filling, labeling, cartoning, and case-pack operations.
  • Drive OEE performance by actively monitoring line efficiency, minimizing unplanned downtime, and executing changeover and cleaning activities on schedule.
  • Lead structured shift startup, Gemba walks, and shift-end handoffs to ensure seamless communication across 4-shift rotating coverage.
  • Maintain real-time awareness of production-vs-plan status; escalate deviations, equipment issues, and resource constraints promptly.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, and Warehouse to resolve obstacles and protect schedule attainment.
  • Ensure all packaging activities are performed in strict accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), SOPs, and Batch Records.
  • Enforce cardinal safety and quality rules; take immediate corrective action on observed deviations without hesitation.
  • Review and approve in-process documentation, logbooks, and electronic batch records with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support deviation investigations, CAPAs, and change control activities as assigned.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for QA and QC during the overnight shift.
  • Directly supervise, coach, and develop a team of 4–6 Line Leads and 20–30+ hourly packaging technicians per shift.
  • Execute training assignments using the department's four-level progressive skills matrix; track qualification status and close gaps proactively.
  • Conduct timely and constructive performance feedback conversations; document performance issues in accordance with HR policy.
  • Foster an inclusive, accountability-driven team culture consistent with Revance's core values.
  • Identify high-potential team members and support succession planning within the packaging organization.
  • Champion a zero-incident safety culture; lead monthly safety observations and participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Ensure all team members complete required safety training and that PPE compliance is maintained throughout the shift.
  • Identify and escalate unsafe conditions or near-misses immediately; support timely corrective action completion.
  • Participate in and facilitate Lean/CI initiatives including 5S, waste elimination, and standardized work development.
  • Submit and support continuous improvement ideas through the department's gemba card and CI systems.
  • Contribute to SOP reviews and updates to reflect best current practices.
