As a Production Supervisor, you’ll take charge of a skilled hourly team, driving performance, optimizing workflow, and fostering an environment of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Your leadership will help keep operations running smoothly while empowering employees to grow, adapt, and succeed. This role will oversee first shift at our Racine facility. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of hourly staff across multiple manufacturing departments. This position will be responsible to ensure the most efficient and economical performance of the operations in accordance with quality standards and production schedules. This position will also ensure that everything remain organized for improved efficiency.

Requirements

  • Must be familiar with Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Must have or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid training.
  • Ability to use critical thinking to make important decisions for team and business operation required.
  • Ability to think and react quickly should production challenges arise required.
  • Ability to demonstrate time management skills/manage many projects or tasks at once. required.
  • Ability to demonstrate conflict resolution required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field desired
  • 5+ years of related experience in operations and prior supervisory and/or lead experience desired
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft office desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision to hourly employees in a manufacturing environment (union Milwaukee only) and manage the workflow and productivity ensuring guidance and coaching for the employees.
  • Responsible for communicating and transferring knowledge to direct reports for training purposes.
  • Communicate daily with appropriate managers and peer group on overall operating conditions and make recommendations to improve procedures, methods, and techniques.
  • Communicate regularly with direct reports to provide goals and objective of the operations.
  • Utilizes operational metrics and an on the floor presence approach to maintain close surveillance over manufacturing operations to assure scheduled workflow, utilization of manpower skills, machines, tooling methods and machine repairs.
  • Audit labor and machine reporting regularly for accuracy and efficiency to standard production methods, rates and schedules.
  • Utilize manufacturing software programs and systems for materials management, shop floor scheduling, packaging, and equipment operation.
  • Help develop and implement operational solutions utilizing lean manufacturing methods in a team environment.
  • Able to identify, investigate, and analyze problems related to materials, quality, equipment, methods, tools, etc., and initiate corrective action to resolve such problems in a timely and efficient method.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, Company policies, and labor contract provisions and administers disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Ensures the adherence to all applicable safety procedures, proper utilization of safety equipment, housekeeping methods, and is on alert for the development of hazardous conditions.
  • Conduct appraisal of employee performance, attendance, and recommend wage adjustments, promotions, etc.
  • Develop and implement training programs for new and existing employees to ensure a flexible workforce.
