An On-Floor Supervisor manages daily activities and staff on the floor of a business, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to quality standards. Key responsibilities include assigning tasks, monitoring performance, resolving issues, managing inventory, and training employees to meet operational goals. Schedule is 3rd shift Responsibilities and Tasks: Accomplishes tasks mainly through direct supervision. Directs daily operations of work areas and assigns work as established in accordance with schedules and deliverables. Interacts daily with subordinates and/or peers within and across functions as necessary. Sets objectives and standards of performance and monitors daily for all employees in his/her department. Maintains schedules and delivery promises. Ensures proper documentation is in use on the production floor at all times. Meets all company, safety, environmental, and housekeeping guidelines. Participates in the training and development of employees. Initiates and follows up on all personnel activities, including performance reviews and counseling. Interfaces with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and other support groups to solve production problems. Maintains accurate floor inventory. Controls scrap and excess material to acceptable levels. Ensures all personnel comply with safety and security regulations as set forth by company policies. Enters and maintains attendance data. Responsible for continuous process improvement. Participates in and promotes Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Other duties as specified by authorized company representatives. May have to work any shift as required. Role is in a unionized shop.
