About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for helping the division achieve its goals by engaging employees, promoting a culture of safety, and optimizing the production process. This role provides direct supervision for hourly employees within their department and involves working closely with the production manager and general manager to meet daily production and profitability goals.

Requirements

  • 5 years of Strong Leadership experience in a labor-intensive production/manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely, creative manner.
  • Must maintain a “Hands-on” style, willing and capable of taking a lead role in technical problem-solving efforts.
  • Strong Presence and proven success motivating a workforce.
  • Excellent teamwork and teambuilding skills with proven ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees, vendors, and customers at all levels.
  • Previous experience creating a vision, setting goals, holding teams accountable and driving results.
  • High sense of urgency
  • Previous success managing in a continuously changing environment.
  • Desire for future growth & responsibilities

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Plans labor requirements to match employee work hours with production needs. Adjusts as necessary to achieve response to customer needs while maintaining employee morale and budget adherence.
  • Promotes a culture of safety with all employees at all times including ensuring employees are meeting the job specific safety standards as well as division or organizational safety requirements.
  • Provides support and motivates all shift personnel and assist the team in achieving the daily production schedule designed to meet our customer expectations.
  • Supervises, develops, and coaches team leads in all aspects of the job, including the proper techniques, work instructions, production methods, quality assurance and plant operation.
  • Maintains strong relationship with employees to including continuous communication and performance feedback to recognize contributions and address performance gaps.
  • Responsible for the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)/goals in collaboration with other internal departments.
  • Promotes communication and teamwork with a focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and good housekeeping throughout the plant.
  • Communicates daily goals to team and reinforces positive results and removes barriers to goal achievement.
  • Works in conjunction with Human Resources on all personnel issues including performance management and necessary disciplinary actions defined in Pioneer Metal Finishing handbook.
  • Conducts annual and periodic performance reviews in alignment with company processes and timeframes. Includes recommending pay increases within company guidelines.
  • Develops job specific training content and supports on-the-job training programs and ensures compliance for training completion of required programs.
  • Ensures workforce adheres to policies of the company handbook.
  • Ensures department team understands and delivers on Customer expectations, including both internal and external customers.
  • Represents the company professionally when interacting with customers and vendors at all times.
  • Assists in planning labor requirements, adjusting as necessary to maintain flexibility in order to meet customer needs.
  • Manages labor costs within budget.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and potential solutions to close the gap.
  • Engages team members in implementing process improvements.
  • Understands how to elevate large opportunities to key stakeholders within the organization.
  • Must complete all required documentation.
  • Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as needed.
