Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • 3+ years of direct supervisory experience

Responsibilities

  • Monitor production activities to eliminate delays and ensure adherence to production and shipping schedules
  • Assist in carrying out production objectives at the lowest cost, consistent with the organization's quality requirements
  • Assure safety and product quality while improving production procedures
  • Coordinate workflow with the various departments involved
  • Report damaged and defective equipment to management
  • Train other employees in day-to-day procedures
  • Maintain quality/quantity standards regarding output
  • Analyze work orders to estimate worker hours and create machining schedules that meet both internal and external needs
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties
  • Plan flow of materials through department according to work orders
  • Interface with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met
  • Inspect and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specifications
  • Direct workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products that fail to meet standards
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules
  • Develop, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew
  • Analyze and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems
  • Maintain time and production records
  • Assist with capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost, and cycle times
  • Other duties as assigned

  • The typical salary for this position ranges from $66,000-$105,600 in Virginia.
  • The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls.
