Production Supervisor - Night Shift

About The Position

Reporting to the Plant Production Manager, the Production Supervisor supervises and coordinates the activities of workers engaged in the molding of parts and in the assembly or subassemblies of plastic parts to produce toys and consumer products by performing the following duties listed below. Hours: This role is a 3rd shift position supporting a shift that works 8 hours, Sunday - Thursday, 40 hours per week. Occasional Fridays may be scheduled.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience in a Supervisor, Lead, or leadership role in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • Must have good listening skills and be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment with a demonstrated ability to successfully lead teams.
  • Must have the ability to communicate, make decisions, have good judgment, and follow and enforce all company policies and procedures.
  • Oracle, Microsoft Office, and other Software as required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous related experience preferred.
  • Some college and/or Supervisory or Leadership training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of the Assembly job duties.
  • Knowledge of the Rotational Molding job duties.
  • Must be able to lead by example.
  • Completes daily staffing schedule for shift based on production requirements and schedules employees accordingly. Makes adjustments as necessary to meet production schedules and Company goals.
  • Completes time studies of products on lines, reviews and revises work instructions and playbooks to ensure they are current, completes SKU line changes, tear downs, and set ups.
  • Coaches and develops, Cell Leads and Roto Floats to ensure optimal performance, operational standards are achieved, and that all Step2 Policies and Procedures are followed.
  • Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement and initiates change.
  • Reviews mold placement and upcoming schedule; completes new product start-ups/pilot production.
  • Investigates and resolves employee concerns and manages all disciplinary action and all related documentation (Incident reports, Corrective actions, etc.); partners with the Production Manager or Human Resources as appropriate.
  • Promotes and ensures that all safety practices are compliant with company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the supervision of employees in other departments as well.
  • Communicate information about Performance, Quality, Safety, and other company expectations regularly.
  • Complete daily production reports.
  • Monitor/evaluate employees’ performance to ensure that it meets company standards and expectations. Make recommendations to improve performance. Assists in writing and/or delivering performance reviews and Performance Improvement Plans (PIP).
  • Suggest improvements for tools and processes to improve quality, cost, and cycle times.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and the use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the shop, department, or work crew.
  • Ability to make business-based decisions and have good judgment.
