About The Position

Truly Good Foods has sales and distribution offices in Orlando, Atlanta, Washington DC, Reno, Dallas and Charlotte. Our SQF, Kosher and organic production facility in Charlotte roasts nuts & seeds daily and blends over 60 bulk snack mixes. These facilities also package and re-box many of our items to meet our customers’ varied needs. Charlotte is our corporate headquarters, and is home to purchasing, accounting, and sales & marketing offices. Yearly Bonus potential The Production Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of the production department in processing materials. Meets goals and objectives to obtain maximum efficiency within company standards.

Requirements

  • Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to read and understand English.
  • Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills by being able to communicate across all levels of the organization. Customer service focused. Leadership and team building skills. Self-motivated individual with the desire to succeed and motivate others.
  • College degree or 4 years related experience and or training. Or equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience required.
  • Previous experience using production machines required.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
  • Reviews, approves, and processes payroll reports/timecards meeting payroll submission deadlines to HR in a timely manner.
  • Assists in production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Assists in preparing operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
  • Works with plant manager in reviewing production and operating reports and resolving operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Follows and enforces all food safety GMPs procedures and policies.
  • Works with the Safety Manager to ensure full compliance of safety procedures and policies.
  • Works very closely with the Food Safety and Quality Control Techs to ensure compliance of all food safety, quality control and GMP procedures and process.
  • Supervises the work activities and development of the production team and evaluates performance, providing corrective action as needed.
  • Assists in all workers’ compensation first report of injury and/or incidents.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Leads the weekly safety talks/meetings.
  • Engages with and be a member of the safety committee.
  • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Assists the plant manager in developing or revising standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
  • Has working knowledge of manufacturing equipment and able to assist in trouble shooting.
  • Has working knowledge of RedZone system.
