About The Position

The Operations Supervisor plays a key leadership role in overseeing daily manufacturing operations at Greenworks’ Morristown facility. This position is responsible for managing production activities, ensuring workplace safety, maintaining quality standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, detail-oriented leader who can balance operational efficiency with employee engagement. Working closely with plant management and corporate teams, this role drives performance excellence, resource utilization, and adherence to Greenworks’ commitment to innovation and product quality.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, including at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or team leadership capacity.
  • Proven ability to lead production teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Experience implementing or working within Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement frameworks.
  • Strong operational discipline with a history of driving safety, quality, and efficiency improvements.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Thorough understanding of plant operations, production planning, and equipment processes.
  • Working knowledge of current safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
  • High level of attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and hands-on manufacturing leadership experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in production supervision, manufacturing management, or operations leadership preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry experience in Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE) or related mechanical/electrical manufacturing preferred.
  • Demonstrated potential for career advancement into higher operational leadership roles.
  • Experience with Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE) or similar mechanical assembly/manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and production process optimization is highly desirable.
  • Advanced education, such as an MBA or master’s in operations/engineering, is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise daily production operations to achieve safety, quality, and output targets.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor production schedules, goals, and KPIs to ensure on-time, efficient manufacturing performance.
  • Recruit, train, and develop production team members; foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous learning.
  • Review production data to identify trends, eliminate waste, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve equipment or process issues and minimize downtime.
  • Enforce compliance with OSHA, company safety standards, and quality management systems.
  • Evaluate employee performance, provide constructive feedback, and support career growth opportunities.
  • Assist in planning and managing departmental budgets, labor, and material resources.
  • Conduct regular equipment and facility inspections to ensure operational readiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with management, peers, and production teams to align goals, challenges, and improvement initiatives.
