About The Position

I. JOB PURPOSE Provides leadership in managing Company resources to produce quality products efficiently, cost effectively, and within design specifications to achieve organizational objectives. Supervises multiple departments on the manufacturing floor, including Dip Braze, Weld, Chemical Lines, Waste Treatment, Shipping and special process items. Works collaboratively with other Managers, Supervisors, Leads and HR in the business for overall success. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/JOB FUNCTIONS Responsible for the supervision in above areas of the factory on all shifts. Follow scheduled operations in support of customer commitments. Influence appropriate behavior across all shifts for process areas supporting or within their area of responsibility Oversee total flow of material for their products; make priority and tradeoff decisions as needed. Continually improve performance of areas of responsibility: Productivity Schedule Attainment Product Quality On time Delivery Inventory Investment Consistent/Fair Application of Policy Responsible for contributing significantly to the consistent achievement of site on time delivery to the customer, zero quality defects both internally and externally, and maintaining competitive lead times. In addition, key responsibilities include process adherence, skill training and skill set management. Other duties as assigned III. JOB SCOPE Job Complexity : Must have the ability to remain focused under all situations; manage multiple tasks; make reasonable responsible decisions in a timely manner. Will be exposed to a multitude of working conditions such as noise, heat, fumes, and dirt. Must have excellent leadership skills, excellent communication and good visual perception. Boyd Job Description Supervisory Responsibility: Manage the activities of approximately 30 or more DL and IDL employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of employees tasks and responsibilities. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring decision and training employees; assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Contacts/Interaction: Interacts frequently with all levels of management and associates. Will attend management meetings in support of company policies and assist with the resolution of issues as they arise. Will regularly interact with various peers and HR. Decision Making and Accountability : Has high-level decision-making responsibility. Failure to make accurate decisions or achieve results will severely impact the unit/department operations and the site. IV. JOB QUALIFICATIONS 1. Educational Background (minimum level needed to perform) and/or Previous Work Experience (minimal level years and what kind) HS Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years direct supervisory/management experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment. 2. Special Skills and Abilities (computer, language, interpersonal skills, etc.) MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to understand and train employees. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general to complex blue prints, technical procedures, work instructions and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, emails, business correspondence and job descriptions. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, and customers. Oracle Reporting knowledge preferred. REASONING ABILITY : Ability to identify and define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions. Utilize and react to forward planning tools as provided by the master scheduler and production planning. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequent walking on concrete or other hard surfaces, standing, long durations of sitting, frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, exposure to frequent and sustaining loud noises.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years direct supervisory/management experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
