About The Position

The Production Supervisor plays a pivotal role in leading the area of responsibility and the shift they are championing. He/she must ensure we achieve the highest safety, quality, operating performance, while enabling positive employee engagement. This role requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to coaching and mentoring employees, with a relentless pursuit of continuous improvement. This leader is responsible for ensuring all plant safety, quality standards and procedures are maintained. This key leadership role identifies opportunities for continuous improvement, drives implementation, and ensures sustainability. The Production Supervisor effectively utilizes labor resources and manages unplanned events (i.e., Equipment down-time, employee's issues, etc.)

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of manufacturing production experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Proven experience with ERP systems (i.e. Syspro, SAP, or similar system a plus)
  • Must have good listening and interpersonal skills with good oral and written communications.
  • Must be able to effectively drive production team to meet the operating expectations
  • Experience in the control and management of chemical manufacturing, storage, handling & disposal, including hazardous materials is a plus.
  • Certification and demonstrated experience of LEAN and Six Sigma principles.
  • English/Spanish bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety, quality, productivity, and workplace organization standards are met.
  • Contribute and lead Safety incident root cause investigations and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Support and maintain all Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and processes.
  • If responsible for the Batch Room (Chemical creation area), arrange the safe storage, handling and disposal of chemicals, including the segregation & disposal of hazardous wastes.
  • Understanding product quality requirements and serving as a resource for quality assurance and approval as needed.
  • Participate in Quality Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and supplier corrective actions.
  • Coach and mentor employees to support personal and organizational development. Need to support company discipline steps to employees if/when appropriate.
  • Support training for full-time and temporary employees in safety, quality, and applicable equipment operation.
  • Track, monitor, and have ownership of the operating performance and associated KPIs. Intervene when performance deviates from trend targets and identify path of recovery and path of sustainable improvement.
  • Assess employee performance through routine audits and the employee review process.
  • Interface with Production Scheduling and ensure the achievement of the Operating Plan and schedule.
  • Ensure all work orders are completed on time and accurately.
  • Verify that all work orders and updated in the ERP system and that all line clearance responsibilities are done appropriately.
