Job Summary: This position is primarily focused on safety in the plant, managing department leads and employees, documenting and communicating issues and problems, and scheduling order processing for the facility. The primary mission of the supervisor is to fully engage with our employees to help them reach their potential!

Requirements

  • High school diploma or (GED); 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to achieve a thorough understanding of plant operations and structure, as well as the ability to interpret queries and comments to assure those production issues are directed to the correct department and resource.
  • Ability to achieve a complete and thorough understanding of the computer database MIS system as it relates to production issues of quantity, and paperwork required to process order within Pentagon Technologies.
  • Ability to ensure that inventory is distributed to individual departments as needed.
  • Ability to achieve a working acknowledgement of processes undertaken within the plant in the handling of our customer supplied parts.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in email, word processing, and spreadsheet functionality
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend internal documents such as work order travelers, inventory records, logs and general company records.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of Management and employees of plant.
  • Ability to express customer requirements and desires in a clear, concise, and informative manner to plant internal management and staff.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs blues print reading.
  • Must possess the abilities to multitask and work well under pressure.
  • Must pass company required hearing, physical and drug screening tests.
  • must be able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance and perform production floor walk-throughs continuously.

Responsibilities

  • Supports hiring, onboarding and training of employees.
  • Manage employee safety plan, awareness and track performance records.
  • Achieving immediate and short-term objectives laid down by the production manager.
  • Schedule and ensure the product is shipped according to written processes and known, by contract due date while maintaining OTD and turnaround time.
  • Maintaining production schedule throughout the day and must update and follow parts through each team as needed.
  • Ensure all expedite requests are placed on schedule as needed and commitments met.
  • Handling communications within the internal plant.
  • Promote cross training, coach, develop and counsel associates.
  • Manage and plan daily department capacity; determine root causes to problems.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing process improvements and maintain 6S scores within target.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and develop corrective and preventive actions using quality methodologies like fishbone, why-why analysis and 8D
  • Understand Statistical process controls and manages its deployment in production
  • Understand and follow operating procedures as assigned to the department to assure consistent, reliable, and timely responses for customer orders, inquiries, and/or issues.
  • And other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager
