About The Position

The Production Supervisor ensures that manufacturing remains a safe, smooth, and efficient process by monitoring employees and organizing workflows to meet schedule compliance. In a fast paced, quality focused environment like production, the Production Supervisor is an integral part of the manufacturing process - they must be competent and comprehend complex and dynamic operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Able to communicate in a positive and professional manner
  • Knowledge within MS Office Suite programs such as Excel, Work, Outlooks, and TEAMS
  • Knowledge of timekeeping programs
  • Experience using ERP programs such as SAP, Oracle, etc.
  • Must be U.S. Persons as defined by U.S. export control regulations (U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))

Nice To Haves

  • Continuing education in engineering or related technical field
  • 10 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3 years of Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of Sheet Metal Manufacturing processes, Welding-Spot, MIG and TIG, Manual and CNC machines, Hand and Power tool use, Powder Coat Paint processes, reading custom work orders/Blueprints/drawings
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with other teams.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to manage projects, track progress, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Production Manager and must work closely with 1st Shift Production Supervisors, and Production Planning/Scheduling preparing and reviewing daily/weekly schedules
  • Supervises and allocates production personnel to execute the daily/weekly production plan/schedule on time
  • Always seeking improved methods of operation by taking a pro-active approach to problems (problem solver not problem identifier)
  • Communicate daily/weekly/monthly objectives and expectations to shift employees
  • Organize workflow and ability to plan and perform day-to-day tactics of leading production operations and paying attention to detail
  • Oversee & coach employees providing positive reinforcement, appropriate and effective recognition, and positive corrective action, when required
  • Cross training staff by encouraging the development of employees through regular performance reviews, feedback, and holding self and others accountable
  • Challenging others towards improvements and growth
  • Ensure the safe use of equipment following SOP's and enforce compliance with safety guidelines and other company standards
  • Monitor production output on a real time basis, and implement recovery plans when production is not meeting schedule
  • Compile and submit end of shift reports
  • Analytical skills to Identify issues in efficiency, productivity, waste or standard practices
  • Participate in LEAN/Value Stream Mapping Manufacturing initiatives and KPIs such as Efficiency and Productivity, Safety Record, Scrap Generated within work cells & teams
