About The Position

The Production Supervisor directs the activities of the production department to maximize the capabilities of both people and machinery while maintaining quality that meets customer expectations. This role will train on 1st shift, transition to a split shift, and ultimately move into a 2nd shift leadership role (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM). The Supervisor provides training, mentorship, and hands-on leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. The ideal candidate will have experience in paper converting or a similar high-speed manufacturing environment. This individual is mechanically inclined, hands-on, and performance-driven. They are comfortable being on the floor, actively engaged in operations, and focused on driving productivity, quality, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily production to ensure on-time delivery of finished goods that meet customer expectations and cost standards
  • Lead and manage hourly employees by listening to concerns, encouraging feedback, and addressing issues in a timely manner
  • Identify substandard performance and take appropriate corrective action based on productivity, quality, waste, and attendance

  • Maintain strong team morale and a positive work environment

  • Perform press, quality, and supply checks daily
  • Ensure safety compliance by enforcing all policies and maintaining proper machine guarding at all times
  • Requisition required supplies and coordinate with Supply Chain to prevent stockouts
  • Ensure production si checked against QC standards and properly staged for quality inspection
  • Manage inventory and order production materials as needed
  • Review production schedules with Supply Chain and adjust to improve efficiency and service levels
  • Perform basic maintenance to keep production lines running
  • Review custom jobs for accuracy
  • Deliver efficiency and waste reduction targets
  • Participate in line changeovers
  • Perform paper testing on inbound raw materials
  • Provide coverage for Production Supervisors' vacation on both 1st and 2nd shift, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations
