About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Production Supervisor - 1st Shift. This position will take place at our growing Omaha Power Center facility ONSITE Monday_Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Relocation assistance to Omaha, NE is available for qualified candidates within the United States. In this role you will work closely with plant staff to supervisor tasks and processes for the 1st shift team members. Omaha Power Center fabricates and assembles Medium Voltage Switchgear buildings from the ground up. You will gain broad knowledge of all steps of the productions process from working with Engineers, to fabrication, paint, and assembly. You will assist in the execution of production plans to meet organized schedule and key dates. You will act as a mentor to coach employees on performance, attendance, and productivity measures to achieve high quality results. You will supervise all departments that operate on 1st shift. The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in leadership - people management.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field of study from an accredited institution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Must have a strong aptitude to interpret and design solutions with minimal information.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience with leading RIE’s/Kaizen/Manufacturing Engineering Capital Projects and other CI Activities in a lean manufacturing environment.
  • Experience reading CAD or Inventor Drawings
  • Experience in fabrication, assembly, or shipping Prior experience in an Engineer to Order (ETO) business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead with integrity and safety.
  • Think and act both tactically and strategically to meet production demands, solve issues and make improvements. Accomplishing this through daily cross-functional team collaboration.
  • Ensure that production demands are met by your department and that team leaders understand their roles in the upkeep of order fulfillment.
  • Generation, promote, and execute improvements to our processes and cost in production through CI and Cost savings initiatives.
  • Improve the shop floor talent by getting to know them, build trust, understand how to inspire each one to become better.
  • Contribute to a safe, engaged, and inclusive work culture by ensuring you and your team comply with all policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing 5S+ duties.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for management regarding production issues in one’s functional area.
  • Participate in the assessment, selection, training, coaching, and development of employees and foster strong employee performance.
  • Evaluate workload requirements and effectively delegate tasks accordingly to ensure proper and adequate manning to support production requirements.
  • Investigate and solve quality issues and/or serve as a point of contact through which quality issues can be resolved. Ensure that employees know the importance of quality and enforces follow through. Work with quality control team to resolve issues and regularly review quality trends in the market.
