NO RECRUITERS PLEASE PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR - 1ST SHIFT Position Summary: The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations on the plant floor, with a strong focus on safety, product quality, on-time delivery, and workforce and team engagement. This role will oversee production of elastomeric insulation materials, including rubber mixing, extrusion, and curing processes. The ideal candidate will bring leadership experience in rubber, plastics, or extrusion manufacturing and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of solid supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of production processes, safety practices, and quality systems.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in using ERP systems; SAP experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical associate degree or higher in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong background in rubber, plastics, extrusion, or similar process-based industries preferred such as elastomeric insulation or similar products.
  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma training/certification.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet safety, quality, and efficiency goals.
  • Lead, coach, and develop hourly production team members; manage attendance, performance, and training.
  • Monitor production KPIs and take corrective action to minimize downtime and scrap.
  • Ensure compliance with all plant safety rules , policies and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to resolve process or equipment issues.
  • Oversee shift handover communication and maintain accurate production records.
  • Utilize SAP or similar ERP system to track materials, production orders, and inventory.
  • Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives including 5S, lean manufacturing, and waste reduction.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality or performance issues.
  • Participate in audits, plant meetings, and improvement workshops as needed.
