This position implements Lean principles in their area; provides support and oversees the work performed by the Lead Associates; and maintains the physical plant within the assigned area.

Minimum of Associates or Technical Degree (Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Discipline is preferred.
Minimum 7+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Review daily visual production boards to maintain efficient production performance; provides prioritized production scheduling to all Lead Associates and team members.
Responsible for the implementation of Lean principles in their area to include elements of takt-time, balanced flow process, visual factory, empowered team meetings, total safety, standardized work and world class 5S standards.
Supervise all work performed in their area; offer coaching/mentoring and/or corrective action when appropriate.
Develop and empower team members in the application of Lean tools to include facilitation, process mapping, spaghetti charting, and the identification and elimination of the 7 wastes.
Lead the effort in safety compliance, improvement and promoting awareness in accordance with company safety requirements and guidelines; drive 5S into the production line on a daily basis.
Help coordinate “Pull” signals and shop activities on a daily basis; promote 1 piece flow and response to daily customer demand; support Kanban Supermarkets where needed.
Support Kanban inventory replenishment in coordination with Planner/Buyers and Material Handlers.
Respond to line down issues and provide leadership to root cause analysis and corrective action plan execution.
Provide assistance to the Lead Associates and team members.
Keeps Facilities / Maintenance informed of any issue outside of normal with any of the production or production support equipment.
Conduct meetings with Lead Associates (if there are any in the Value Stream) as needed.
Participate in Kaizen events as needed.
Review and update ECO’s.
Help approve weekly attendance for temporary team members.
Ensure quality standards are met with all products.
Administer AERCO policies and procedures.
Additional projects as necessary.
Direct the supervision of the Lead Associates and team members.
Lead team to work in a safe manner at all times and comply with safety policies and standards.
