About The Position

SMT, Inc. is a leading precision metal fabrication and electro-mechanical assembly manufacturer serving industrial and commercial customers. We are seeking a strong, hands-on Production Supervisor to lead our Electro-Mechanical Assembly department. This role is ideal for a technically skilled manufacturing leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands the quality, safety, and productivity standards required in electrification and industrial power systems. The Production Supervisor will oversee daily operations within the Electro-Mechanical Assembly department, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. This individual will lead a team of assemblers and technicians while driving accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement. This is a working leadership role requiring strong technical capability and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring schematics.

Requirements

  • Prior experience running or supervising a production department (required)
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring schematics (required)
  • Proven leadership ability in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the electrification industry strongly preferred
  • Experience in electro-mechanical assembly, power distribution units, industrial controls, or switchgear preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the Electro-Mechanical Assembly team
  • Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality and safety standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics
  • Monitor workflow, productivity, and labor utilization
  • Train, coach, and develop assembly technicians
  • Enforce company policies and safety procedures
  • Troubleshoot technical and production issues in real time
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Planning teams to resolve production challenges
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department
  • Maintain accurate production and performance records
