Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Technology preferred or 5-7 years relevant experience
  • 5+ years of applicable Manufacturing Management experience
  • 5+ years of experience in cleaning tanks, railcars, or similar vessels
  • Experience, knowledge or training of Lean Manufacturing methodologies with actual implementation background
  • Must have people management experience; ability to supervise and interface effectively with employees of all levels
  • Experience managing operational expenses for department that ensures good stewardship of company resources to achieve business objectives
  • Confined space entry management experience required
  • Knowledge of operations or the ability to acquire it quickly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively plan work procedures, equipment, material and manpower needs
  • Ability to effectively build and lead a productive work group as well as to perform as a member of the management team
  • Must have Excel and Microsoft Office Experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the Cleaning Rack, flaring, and tank car cleaning teams, including supervisors and hourly personnel. Oversee training, onboarding, and certification to ensure all employees are prepared and qualified for their roles
  • Organize and assign work schedules, set production targets, and monitor performance to maximize productivity and meet safety, quality, and output goals. Proactively resolve operational issues and coordinate workloads to ensure efficient completion of schedules
  • Collaborate with other departments to implement process enhancements and maintain high standards for cleaning railcars, ensuring compliance with company and customer specifications
  • Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety requirements-including confined space entry, flare operation, robotic cleaning, waste disposal, and environmental compliance-for all cleaning team members and downstream employees
  • Monitor labor efficiency, manage operational costs, and oversee the financial outcomes of cleaning operations to meet departmental and facility financial objectives
  • Align cleaning operations with plant needs, develop additional cleaning-only services to maximize rack utilization, and establish technical plans to achieve both immediate and long-term business goals
  • Share best practices and robotic cleaning expertise with other Trinity facilities, and ensure all work performed on railcars is accurately documented
