And of course, in your ideas to improve lives while preserving our planet's beauty for the generations to co We are looking for: Production Superintendent: Coordinate the daily activities of the Production Department, ensuring production operations are carried out following all established procedures, in a safe and efficient manner, in conformance to plant quality standards. Also, assist in setting priorities and adherence to schedule.

Requirements

  • This position requires an engineering degree with 5+ years industrial experience including team leadership and group management experience in a chemical facility.
  • Additional educational background may be substituted in place of experience.
  • Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and ability to complete all tasks required of the Production Technician job responsibilities.
  • Possess basic troubleshooting abilities to properly identify causes of production equipment and process upsets.
  • Basic PC skills required for electronic communications, CMMS maintenance work orders, incident/accident reporting, and data retrieval (SDS).
  • Ability to coach, council, and motivate subordinates in a constructive manner.
  • Ability to efficiently and accurately communicate with peers, subordinates, and superiors in a constructive manner.
  • Ability to effectively train subordinates and peers in all aspects of the Production Technician job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor all production activities to ensure procedures are followed, re-directing as necessary
  • Complete and communicate incident reports for all incidents/accidents/near misses that occur on shift
  • Enforce plant housekeeping standards
  • Authorize all safety permits as required
  • Act as incident commander in times of emergency until management arrives (Actual role Emergency Operations Officer)
  • Coordinate necessary resources as required to safe and efficient operations
  • Verify payroll punches are correct for each shift
  • Arrange vacation, overtime, and fire watch for each shift
  • Coordinate all group training
  • Ensure all paperwork and records are complete and accurate
  • Ensure empty containers are properly handled, labeled and stored
  • Communicate and coordinate maintenance activities to meet production needs
  • Communicate/coordinate plant operations with production scheduling and Lab technicians
  • Develop, update, and communicate the daily operating plan
  • Review procedure updates/MOCs/communication bulletins with the shift
  • Forward feedback to and from the shift as necessary
  • Notify Plant Manager, Maintenance Manager, and Material Manager of production and maintenance issues or delays
  • Review with Maintenance Manager any related project, process, and maintenance costs to the overall benefit of the company.
  • Provide the leadership to move from a reactionary repair mode to one that performs work in an orderly and proactive manner, assisting with work notification approval and scheduling
  • Assists maintenance department to sustain and improve maintenance management and PM systems while moving the production department toward operator lead basic maintenance PM and monitoring activities
  • Represent Syensqo, through daily actions that reinforce the plant and corporate values, demonstrating personal commitment to a safe, healthy, and environmentally sound workplace for employees.
  • Administer all safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all Productions activities.
  • Participate in required active learner activities, weekly 5S inspections, monthly departmental safety self-inspections, eyewash/shower inspections, PPE inspections, monthly respirator inspections, vehicle inspections, personal care, and warehouse inspections.
  • Authorize and audit line breaking permits, confined space permits, and special safety permits as required.
  • Participating in the Plant Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) program
  • Complete reports for all incidents, accidents, and near misses that occur
  • Respond as needed to plant and customer emergencies
  • Conduct daily, weekly and monthly safety meetings as required
  • Complete contractor and vendor orientation as needed
  • Follow all site safety rules and procedures including Syensqo Life Savings Rules.
  • Act as Incident Commander in emergency situations
  • Conduct periodic inspections to assure compliance with existing process safety rules and procedures and to assess the effectiveness and need for other risk reduction activities.

  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $115,000- $130,700 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
  • 16, or more, weeks of maternity/paternity and co-parenting leave, according to local regulations.
