About The Position

The Production Specialist is responsible for the efficient application of people and resources to meet delivery requirements while upholding quality and safety standards. This role involves identifying and deploying technical skill sets, managing resource levels, and implementing systems for project delivery, including engaging internal and external resources. Key responsibilities include ensuring team members are trained and compliant with work procedures and quality requirements, performing root cause analysis, and resolving problems. The specialist is expected to foster a team-oriented environment through open communication and collaboration with subject matter experts. They will also identify, evaluate, and recommend continuous improvements in safety, product/process quality, productivity, manufacturing costs, and schedule performance. The role requires analyzing production performance, identifying capacity issues, and driving corrective actions. The Production Specialist is also tasked with identifying, providing, and documenting employee training requirements, securing necessary resources for skill development, and conducting timely performance evaluations. Daily interaction with various manufacturing support groups such as maintenance, warehouse, engineering, production planning, quality, and purchasing is essential for providing critical information and feedback. The specialist will also interface with individuals at all organizational levels to achieve company objectives, respond to employee questions and suggestions, and ensure inventory accuracy by working with cycle counters to resolve discrepancies and prevent future occurrences. Additionally, the role involves performing accident investigations, STOP observations, safety audits, and potentially explosives audits, as well as communicating daily departmental activities to the next shift's supervisor for smooth operations. Requirements

  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations (ITAR and EAR), applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national; (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (a/k/a green card holder); (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. Responsibilities

  • Work to ensure people and resources are applied in an efficient manner to meet delivery requirements while achieving quality and safety standards.
  • Identify and deploy technical skill sets, resource levels and systems to deliver projects, including the engagement of internal and external resources.
  • Ensure that team members are trained and follow work procedures and comply with quality requirements.
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
  • Promote a team oriented environment based upon open two-way communication and inclusion of subject matter experts to resolve problems.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop recommendations for the continuous improvement of safety, product/process quality, productivity, manufacturing costs and schedule performance.
  • Analyze production performance, identify capacity and other issues for improving the performance of the operation.
  • Takes initiative to incorporate the appropriate short-term corrective actions where applicable, assists in understanding the root causes of more long-term issues and actively drives the implementation of the appropriate corrective action(s) to prevent future occurrence.
  • Identify, provide and document the training requirements for his/her employees, securing the necessary resources and tools for developing employees’ skills to ensure competency in their assigned jobs.
  • Interfaces daily with personnel from a variety of manufacturing support groups such as maintenance, warehouse, engineering, production planning, quality and purchasing, providing critical information and feedback regarding the necessary day-to-day business activities improvement opportunities.
  • Interfaces and works with individuals at all organizational levels to achieve company, plant, area and departmental division objectives.
  • Responsible for the timely and appropriate response to employee questions, improvement suggestions, and concerns.
  • Provide timely and accurate Performance Evaluations to team members.
  • Performs accident investigations, STOP observations, safety audits, and may be requested to perform explosives audits.
  • Required to communicate essential daily departmental activities to supervisor responsible for the next shift, ensuring smooth operation of the area.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of the inventory, working with the cycle counters to understand discrepancies, discover the root cause for the discrepancy, and take appropriate corrective action to prevent future occurrence.
