The Sound Manager’s primary responsibilities are to provide creative analysis, managing and execution all sound designs for PRC productions, ensuring that the work performed in the Sound Department is executed professionally, efficiently, and safely according to prescribed industry and institutional standards. The Sound Manager is the principal artist that creates and brings to life the Sound Designer and Director’s vision/concept by overseeing and supervising the hang, cabling, and programming of all sound equipment/effects. The Sound Manager directs the Sound Department and allocates resources to create the desired concept of the production while establishing the priorities for execution of each production’s sound design. The Sound Manager oversees budgeting and is responsible for the operation of all Sound areas and personnel. The Sound Manager provides creative direction on all PlayMakers productions during the season and instructs graduate and undergraduate students supporting sound production.
