About The Position

Revolution is looking for a Shift Supervisor in the Kilgore, TX, area. This is a Monday-Friday 11:00 pm - 7:00 am position. Here is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a challenging opportunity within a growing manufacturing company. This person will plan, organize, and control the production in our organization to ensure that items are produced efficiently, on time, within budget, and to standard and provide positive and proactive leadership to all employees.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Prefer a Technical, Associate's, or Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Three years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (prefer converting exp.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Supervisory skills, including hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, disciplining, and performance management of employees.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing safety & quality practices.
  • Constantly exposed to noise and moving machinery.
  • Standing and moving about (50% stationary; 50% moving about).
  • Occasional fingering, reaching (shoulder height and below), handling of high-speed Packaging, and near vision.
  • Occasional handling and squatting. Occasionally reaches above shoulder height.
  • Occasional lifts and carries up to 25 lbs. and frequently lifts and carries up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally pushes up to 100 lbs. and moves up to 900 lbs. using a pallet jack..
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours.
  • Must be able to tolerate light smoke (on occasion) in the department.

  • Plastic Packaging Converting knowledge experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Environmental Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Analyzes production schedules to estimate worker hours and create machining schedules that meet internal and external customer needs.
  • Reviews production schedules to ascertain product data such as product types, quantities, specifications, and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations and establishes priorities and sequences for manufacturing the products.
  • Oversees and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications.
  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance, safety, and optimum utilization.
  • Develops and/or revises operational practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
  • Employee Relations: Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; Planning, assigning, and directing work; Appraising performance; Rewarding and disciplining employees; Problem/Conflict Resolution; Team Player and Team Builder – helps build camaraderie and team spirit.
  • Ensures safety practices are being followed and oversees safety training within the department. Meets the safety goals established by the department and company.
  • Inspires a culture of continuous improvement, including seeking employees’ ideas.
