About The Position

Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a hardworking team of technicians and engineers, you will build human-rated orbital launch vehicles. Our team builds the fuel tanks for the New Glenn 1st and 2nd stages. In this role, supported by your shift manager you will directly (solid-line) lead and supervise technicians and coordinate (dotted-line) additional teammates such as manufacturing engineers, quality personnel, production controllers, schedulers, etc. You will have ultimate and full responsibility for successfully orchestrating your crew and building 1st and 2nd stage fuel tanks. Special Mentions: Shifts available: 2nd Shift (4p-2:30a M-Thurs) Interviews will include a technical assessment

Requirements

  • Must be able to work 2nd shift - 2nd shift hours are M-Th 16:00-02:30

  • Experience as a “front line” leader, working directly with individual contributors in various roles
  • Work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with constantly evolving roles and responsibilities - to make it all happen - step by step, ferociously
  • Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately - in writing, in person, and via video calls
  • Digital literacy
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Management, Business, etc.) or equivalent directly related years of professional experience
  • Work wherever, whenever, however best to help your team succeed. This will include extended hours and weekends when vital. Occasional remote work and/or flexible schedule is available when possible.
  • Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission. We all fly together!

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a high-performing team, assembling large aerospace primary structures and/or integrating systems.
  • Guide teammates and ensure that each person has everything necessary to succeed.
  • Champion continued learning and growth to attract, develop, and retain great people.
  • Conduct regular check-ins to ensure team member performance, fulfillment, and growth.
  • Author job descriptions, screen candidates, and conduct interviews.
  • Make hiring recommendations.
  • Develop and implement process, efficiency, and safety improvements.
  • Prioritize work based on production schedule and organizational goals.
