About The Position

The Production Scheduler is a detail-oriented and highly organized individual responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining efficient production schedules to meet customer demands, optimize workflow, and ensure on-time delivery. The Production Scheduler will oversee scheduling for all production which includes all work orders for live customer orders, pre-build stock orders, and transfers to other branches. This role involves close collaboration with production, procurement, quality control, and logistics teams to align resources, manage timelines, and address potential bottlenecks.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Business or related field or 3-5 years’ experience in the Industrial Hose industry
  • Intermediate to Advanced in MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook), with a willingness to learn new software programs.
  • Ability to multi-task, and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience using P21 ERP software or similar is preferred
  • Experience with industrial distribution, preferably fluid power components preferred. Familiarity with industrial and hydraulic hose and fittings preferred
  • Experience with industrial distribution workflow
  • Strong work ethic and effective communication skills
  • Excellent written & oral communication and strong relationship building skills required
  • Detail oriented with solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
  • Highly organized, with the ability to work independently and follow specific work instructions

Responsibilities

  • Creating and maintaining detailed production schedules
  • Monitoring production progress and adjusting schedules as needed
  • Coordinating with various departments to ensure material availability and capacity alignment
  • Identifying and resolving scheduling conflicts or delays
  • Communicate scheduling changes or delays to relevant departments
  • Reporting on production metrics and schedule performance.
  • Minimize downtime and bottlenecks through proactive planning and coordination.
  • Expedite late vendor shipments, find additional sourcing if needed, and update ERP system so all team members can see the most current status of the order(s) to meet customer acknowledged ship date
  • Communicate with production, sales and our customers on any issues impacting our ability to meet the acknowledged ship dates
  • Support the Gulf Coast Sales team with purchasing stock and non-stock items as needed, as well as indirect branch purchasing
  • Assist with other general warehouse duties and sales activities, as required
  • Assist Branch Management with production meetings, safety meetings, and general office tasks, as needed
