About The Position

We are partnering with our Food Manufacturing client in Aurora, IL in their search for a Production Scheduler. The Production Scheduler is responsible to balance customer demand requirements with production capacity, and Finished Goods stock levels. Utilizing forecasting tools and MRP, the Scheduler is responsible for providing production schedules in a changing fast paced environment. This position requires excellent communication skills and works closely with all departments to meet business goals and consistent customer service levels. This is a direct hire opportunity. Requirements

  • Four year degree desired.
  • Knowledge of supply chain, manufacturing and inventory fundamentals.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant plant scheduling experience.
  • Strong PC skills required including Microsoft Office, ERP and MRP software.
  • Able to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis and evaluation require tradeoffs.
  • Strong working knowledge of food processing or similar industry.
  • Commitment to total teamwork, results oriented, time management and organizational awareness.
  • Able to communicate effectively with co workers, suppliers and management.
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment and to forecast production schedules based on changing demand to ensure goals are met.

Responsibilities

  • Develop daily and weekly production schedules that balance customer demands with efficient plant utilization in a make to stock and make to order environment.
  • The Production Schedule is a continuous update of scenarios in terms of capacity requirements, demands and planning.
  • Analyzes Finished Goods inventory with forecasted demands to efficiently bring inventories to target levels.
  • Monitors component materials to ensure supplies are available for weekly production needs.
  • Maintaining the BOM for demand on components, and changes to materials.
  • Lead daily cross-functional scheduling meetings to review demand, equipment utilization and ensure plan is executable, review past performance with future production.
  • Communicate with operations to review run sizes and seek opportunities to improve filling efficiencies.
  • Develop daily / weekly production metrics to encompass planned vs. actual production and utilization of machinery and staffing.
  • Communicates with Transportation, to ensure make to order product are available in the most economical time frame for shipping.
