About The Position

For over 90 years Daubert Chemical Company has been a profitable, family-owned specialty chemical manufacturer and a market leader in the brands that we sell to our end users and distributors. We are seeking an experienced Production Scheduler to work onsite at our chemical plant near Midway airport. The Production Planner builds and maintains real time schedules that reflect manufacturing plans for meeting customer needs with an effective use of manufacturing resources in a batch chemical processing facility. This is achieved by collaborating closely with Production, Procurement, R&D, Quality, Engineering and Maintenance to ensure materials, equipment and labor are available. This position requires a self-starter who is very organized with high attention to detail who can manage timely communication needs across the organization. must be skilled at responding to unexpected changes impacting execution of production plans, assessing options against business and customer priorities and communicating changes effectively to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • A High School diploma is required.
  • Minimum 3 years of production planning experience in a chemical manufacturing environment is required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite, including SharePoint; working knowledge of internet, intranet, data entry and reporting; Word and Excel intermediate level is highly desired.
  • An understanding of managing data and flows in an ERP system is required.
  • Demonstrated planning and organization skills.
  • Detail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all the necessary details to get the work done accurately and timely.
  • Strong collaboration and teaming skills with stakeholders across functions.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Working knowledge to be a resource for effective problem-solving in the department.
  • Display critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal and listening communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, business, may be helpful.
  • MS Dynamics is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and coordination of production schedules across all manufacturing departments at the plant and tolled production activities with 3rd party partners
  • Monitor and evaluate schedule adherence, communicating potential issues and actions to keep manufacturing on track to meet customer promises.
  • Assist in the development of contingencies to potential disruptions
  • Coordinates with procurement on raw material deliveries needed for current production plans.
  • Optimizing product sequencing in processing assets to minimize time, cost and quality risks associated with changeovers.
  • Assist in optimization of inventory controls
  • Review Engineering Change Orders to ensure open Production orders comply with changes.
  • Support New Product introduction into production plans that maximizes initial production batch success
  • Support time needed on manufacturing assets for Maintenance & Reliability activities and engineering projects
  • Maintains effective flow of orders through manufacturing
  • Manage data in the ERP system needed for scheduling and production execution
  • Ensures Bill of Materials, routings, lead times and safety stocks are current
  • Evaluates MRP outputs
  • Firms Production Orders needed to meet customer order requirements
  • Puts demand on external manufacturing resources through purchasing to ensure timely availability of those products.
  • Within manufacturing, this role is the central communication link between Customer Service, Production, Shipping, Logistics, Inventory Control (Materials), and QA Lab.
  • Coordinates loading of bulk shipments with approved carriers
  • Monitors inventory levels and material movements needed for batches.
  • Timely updates that track production progress in the system
  • Reviews completed batch processing information
  • Facilitates information for the Daily Production Meeting
  • Coordinates capacity planning between Sales and Operations
  • Aligns longer term schedules with forecasted demands
  • Analyzes customer demand against manufacturing capacity and safety stock levels
  • Establishes priorities by product platform and customers that drive decisions when scheduling customer orders to meet requirements.
  • Reports manufacturing KPI’s related to production plan execution.
  • Participate in physical inventory activities
  • Lead special projects requiring cross-department coordination
