About The Position

The Production Scheduler is responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing daily and weekly production schedules across all manufacturing departments at Service Thread. This role ensures customer orders are planned efficiently and accurately through Insight, Service Thread’s internal scheduling platform. The Production Scheduler works closely with Customer Service, Production Supervisors, and other cross-functional teams to balance capacity, prioritize orders, and support on-time delivery. Clear communication, accuracy, and timely updates are essential.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Business Administration preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in production planning, scheduling, or coordination—preferably in textile manufacturing.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn Insight scheduling platform.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working with complex data.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement.
  • Understanding yarn processing, twisting, winding, treating, or textile production flow.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and long-term production schedules using Insight on the Service Thread company website.
  • Review order requirements, production capacity, material availability, and labor constraints when planning schedules.
  • Adjust and re-sequence schedules as needed to address machine downtime, labor shortages, rush orders, or unforeseen issues through logging non-compliances.
  • Ensure schedule accuracy and alignment with customer delivery requirements.
  • Communicate schedule changes proactively to Operations Manager.
  • Collaborate daily with Customer Service to review incoming orders, changes, customer priorities, and delivery commitments.
  • Provide timely updates on schedule impacts, delays, and production status.
  • Participate in daily/weekly production meetings with supervisors and department leads.
  • Use Microsoft Teams actively for communication, updates, and coordination.
  • Partner with Production Supervisors to ensure schedule feasibility.
  • Monitor workflow in Insight to ensure orders flow correctly through production.
  • Track schedule adherence and report on late orders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve scheduling efficiency or reduce downtime.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure lead times and capacities align with customer expectations.
  • Prioritize orders based on urgency, guidelines, and operational constraints.
  • Work with Customer Service to resolve schedule conflicts.
