POSITION SUMMARY: The Production Scheduler is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing daily and weekly production activities in a pistachio processing and packaging facility. This role ensures efficient use of labor, equipment, and raw materials while meeting customer demand, quality standards, and shipping deadlines.

Requirements

  • Preferably 2-5 years of experience in production scheduling, manufacturing planning, or food processing (nut processing experience preferred).
  • Must have excellent time and project management skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills to include Word, Excel, Sage, ERP, etc.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively with cross-functional teams while maintaining professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules for pistachio processing and packaging lines.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, inventory, quality assurance, and logistics teams to align production with raw material availability and customer orders.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules in real-time to address equipment downtime, labor shortages, or supply issues.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of processing equipment, packaging lines, and workforce.
  • Track inventory levels of raw pistachios, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.
  • Collaborate with sales and customer service to meet order fulfillment deadlines and priorities.
  • Analyze production data to improve efficiency, throughput, and waste reduction.
  • Maintain accurate scheduling records in ERP/MRP systems.
  • Support compliance with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, FDA regulations) and company policies.
  • Communicate schedules and changes clearly to production supervisors and plant management.
