About The Position

The Planner plays a pivotal role in shaping manufacturing strategy and ensuring successful execution of aerospace programs. This position is responsible for developing detailed manufacturing instructions, coordinating cross‑functional planning activities, and ensuring compliance with technical, quality, and customer requirements.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of aerospace industry experience.
  • Experience managing integrated aerospace technical programs.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace engineering, manufacturing, quality, and certification processes.
  • Hands‑on experience with aerospace structures manufacturing.
  • High proficiency in interpreting complex aerospace drawings.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • Broad aerospace manufacturing Familiarity with AS9100 and aerospace quality standards.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and estimating software.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer requirements and ensure full technical compliance.
  • Compile all necessary information to cost components and assemblies, including BOMs, routings, raw materials, vendor services, tooling, and production rates.
  • Develop cost estimates for new projects ranging from simple parts to complex multi‑level assemblies.
  • Prepare and review planning documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze engineering releases, specifications, and related documentation to create detailed travelers and process sheets.
  • Define operation sequences, raw material needs, tooling, tolerances, setup/run times, inspection points, and other critical manufacturing requirements.
  • Incorporate engineering changes and revise planning documentation as needed.
  • Develop rework planning and support troubleshooting of manufacturing processes.
  • Serve as a liaison between Engineering, NC Programming, Manufacturing, and Program Management.
  • Create original manufacturing process instructions and plan all phases of fabrication, repair, and rework.
  • Generate purchasing demand within the ERP system.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure comprehensive planning for flight‑critical components.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to ensure planning needs are met.
  • Develop product flow sequencing and identify special process or inspection requirements.
  • Conduct initial reviews of nonconformances and develop rework instructions when required.
  • Translate customer instructions into actionable planning and manage corrections to completion.
  • Communicate and escalate significant technical or manufacturing issues to leadership.
  • Interpret complex aerospace drawings and specifications.
  • Exercise independent judgment to resolve planning‑related challenges.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
