About The Position

We are seeking a Production Planner to join our Supply Chain team in Calvert.
The position will be on site 50% of the work time, so 2-3 days per week.

Objective: Create, submit and maintain production sequences for Melt Shop and Hot Strip Mill facilities, as well as supporting functions; reallocate/prioritize materials in process to fulfill customer demand; generate and edit Production Orders; collaborate with other Business Areas to better achieve SOTIF and satisfy customer needs

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience in production planning or scheduling, ideally within a relevant manufacturing industry.
• Strong understanding of production processes, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
• Experience with Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), with strong skills in data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and control production for each piece of equipment.
• Provide planning scenarios to operations to address breakdowns, constraints, and capacity availability.
• Track and document actual production from Melt Shop and Hot Strip Mill using Excel, Power BI, or Word.
• Maintain the Melt Schedule in SCM Viewpoint to support Real-Time Order Promising.
• Monitor demand and position for multiple products, making adjustments to meet customer requirements.
• Evaluate quality reports and reroute material accordingly (e.g., rework, alternative paths).
• Create, edit, and close production orders.
• Make weekly planning decisions to reduce changeover time while increasing SOTIF.
• Communicate planning updates to operations and sales, and collaborate closely with Mexinox teams.
• Participate in a rotation schedule for weekends and holidays, with required on‑call availability.
