About The Position

The Planner is a key member of the Operations team, responsible for developing and executing production and material plans that ensure on-time delivery across multiple complex product lines. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance competing priorities in a dynamic environment. The Planner will collaborate closely with Operations, Procurement, Engineering, and Customer Service to optimize inventory, manage lead times, and support customer commitments.   MOST CHALLENGING PART OF THE JOB The biggest challenge is managing planning for multiple complex product lines in a high-mix, low-volume environment. This means: Competing Priorities: Coordinating schedules across diverse products with different lead times, engineering requirements, and customer deadlines. Supply Chain Volatility: Navigating material shortages, supplier delays, and global logistics issues while maintaining on-time delivery.Dynamic Demand: Responding quickly to changes in customer orders, forecast variability, and urgent requests without disrupting production flow. Cross-Functional Alignment: Ensuring Operations, Procurement, Engineering, and Customer Service are aligned when priorities shift.Risk Management: Anticipating bottlenecks and proactively mitigating risks before they impact delivery performance.  The Planner must think strategically while acting tactically, making real-time decisions that balance customer satisfaction, cost efficiency, and operational stability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • +3 years of experience in production planning, buying or materials management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP experience preferred).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate production schedules for multiple product lines executed across Pittsburgh.
  • Align Inter-Company Plan and Fulfil need with Calgary for the 888-product line
  • Ensure material requirements planning (MRP) is accurate to ensure timely availability of components and raw materials.
  • Monitor inventory levels and adjust plans to minimize shortages and excess stock.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve planning conflicts and ensure schedule adherence.
  • Analyze demand forecasts and historical data to improve planning accuracy.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to capacity, supply constraints, and lead times.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in planning processes and tools.
  • Prepare and present planning reports and KPIs to management.
  • Incorporate methods and techniques involved in lean and Just in Time management.
  • Participate in strategic planning and control development with senior management.
  • Establish policies for planning parameters and review quarterly.
  • Be capable of scheduling demand, based on cumulative lead time analysis
