About The Position

Schedules and coordinates flow of work in the front end operations (forge, heat treat, grind, etc) to expedite production by performing the following duties. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Reviews master production schedule with Production Control Manager. Supervisor, and discusses job orders; establishes priorities for specific customer orders. Oversees production control functions when supervisor is unavailable. Revises schedule according to traveler specifications, established priorities, and availability or capability of workers, parts, material, machines, and equipment. Supports with auditing and tracking incoming travelers into the ERP backlog/ Workload. Updates and lead ship call backlog on a daily basis. Confers with department supervisors and attends production meetings to determine progress of work and to provide information on changes in processing methods received from operations departments, process control, or engineering departments. Oversees and obtains quotations from outside vendors for job orders that will be processed outside the plant; types purchase orders and follows up until the parts are returned; may reviews and approves outside vendor invoices. Compiles reports concerning progress of work and downtime due to failures of machines and equipment to apprise production planning personnel of production delays. Reviews travelers when jobs are completed in department and schedules move tags to transfer material to the next dept. operation process. Ensure operators or designee update Daily Production Reports. Enters data from Lean Projects, DPR, down time sheets and creates metrics and charts. Schedule and manage employees for departmental forklift operators/drivers. Managerial duties include and are not limited to performance reviews, disciplinary action, employee trainings, investigations, and timecard administration. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of supervisors or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Familiar with capabilities of the operational equipment, obtaining purchasing quotations and manufacturing plant atmosphere
  • Intermediate with PC programs, MS Office , MS Word & Excel..

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or similar field
  • 2-3 years of planning experience in manufacturing
  • Experience in manufacturing environment accepted in lieu of degree
  • Experience with ERP systems
